HOW TO PLAY
All you need is a phone... and a killer sense of humour!

Set up
Match my Beat works with four music platforms: Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music and Deezer. Choose which platform you're going to use and take the four corresponding tokens. Put the other tokens back in the box.
1. You'll need a smartphone with an internet connection and the app for your chosen music platform. Sit round so you can all hear the phone.
Pro tip: connect a speaker and pump up the volume!
2. Turn the four tokens over so the QR code faces down. Pick one of the playlists for the entire game:

3. Shuffle the deck of Situation Cards and place them face down in a pile. Each player takes 7 cards to form a hand. Don't let other players see your cards. No peeking!
Tip: If you are playing using the platform's free mode, we recommend you change the playlist after each round, instead of sticking with it for the entire game. This will avoid having problems when skipping songs.
How to play
1. Decide which player will be the judge and sit out the first round. If that's you, scan the QR code of the chosen playlist. Set the platform to "shuffle mode" and a random song will start to play.
2. While listening to the song, the other players review their Situation Cards and place one face-down in front of the judge, in response to the song.
Pro-tip: listen up and choose one of your Situation Cards.
It could be a funny situation that ties in with the song, or something you really would not want to happen when that song is playing!
Don't have a suitable card for this song? Trade your cards (up to 7) instead of playing (not applicable when playing with just 3 players).
3. As soon as everyone is ready, the judge reads out each of the cards and picks a favourite one. It could be the funniest combination of song and card, the most apt or the most bizarre. Anything goes!
4. The owner of the chosen card wins all of the Situation Cards that were played for this round. Each card is worth 1 point.
Be warned: playing when you don't have a good card gives the round winner more points.
5. Players draw a new card to bring their hands back up to 7. Play moves clockwise with the next player to the judge's left becoming the judge for the next round. The next song starts to play automatically. If you're ready, you can always hurry things along by pressing "Next song"!

Winning the game
The game ends when every player has had two turns at being the judge (or judged once for groups of 6 players or more). The player who scored the most points is the winner!
If there is a draw, play an extra round!
